Is a penny worth anything anymore?

people don’t even bother to pick them up off the floor

They’re not worth the effort or the “luck”

because you need 100 of them just to get a buck

stores barely use the penny and hate to accept it

try paying in only pennies and they’ll throw a fit

especially a large purchase like jewelry or a car

try handing over a bag of pennies and they’ll make you see stars

they say it’s not worth the effort to count and roll

and taking it to the bank or using them is another toll

I think i’m going to take it upon myself

to destroy all pennies and put them on a shelf

I know it’s illegal to destroy legal tender

but i’ll get a thank you from every lender, spender and vendor

so about this, what is the government going to do?

I’m not sure but I know how I’m paying them when they decide to sue

My site’s been down for a day or two

1and1 (my hosting provider) messed me over and I didn’t know what to do

They lost my sites and I wanted to sue

Because of the incompetence of their whole crew

They promised to get me a backup of all I have done

And within an hour or two everything will run

But they didn’t get back to me so I called again

I asked about my backups, they’ll be delivered when?

They put in the request for backups a few more times

But their effort wasn’t worth a bunch of dimes

After a day an email they finally sent

Saying unfortunately they couldn’t get my stuff, not even a dent

They said I should have called sooner because now it’s too late

 But I wasn’t going to let these fool determine my fate

Luckily I had backups of most of what I have done

and I restored all my settings no thanks to 1and1

Please stay with me and keep coming back

The entire world is run on fear

everyone always thinking that the end is near

if not the end, trouble at least

family, financial or some other beast

we worry about what others think

we’re so afraid they might watch us sink

so we play it safe and do nothing at all

for fear that someone will watch us fall

but the only way to really get ahead

is to take fear by the neck and face it instead

stop caring about how everyone talks

because if we don’t, we won’t hear when opportunity knocks

and that is what we should fear the most

being stuck in a state of fear  and we’re all toast

Gas is so flippin’ expensive I can’s afford to drive

I never thought it would reach this high, not while i was alive

but the price is set, people pay and there’s nothing we can do

except stop driving, buy fuel efficient cars and boycott the big boys too

I got an email about not buying from the biggest name in town

it said that if we boycott them the price will surely go down

opposed to just not buying gas one measly day each week

because that would give them a day off and then not change a thing

Now it’s a big debate to drill off shore or not

we’re killing our resources, or so we all were taught

maybe we should just come up with an alternate for fuel

Then we can fill our flux copasitators with trash and feel really cool

we can forget about driving  and all those traffic codes

because “Where we‘re going, we don’t need roads”

We’ll fly to the future and then back to the past

we’ll mess around with our timelines  but the fun won’t last

we’ll mess up the time continuum so that gas was never used

and we’ll all live happily ever after without that oil industry abuse.

Out of sight, out of mind

Sticking around is beneficial you will find

it’s the squeeky wheel that gets the oil

it’s the noisy customer who gets heard not one who’s loyal

Always being around can be annoying it’s true

but disapearing out of site just wont do

Find a happy medium and you’ll be fine

but don’t try too hard, it’s not worth your time

I love my life and love to have fun

I write sucky poems because I like it a ton

Sometimes I write something that seems dark and cold

don’t take it as a sign that i need  help, cuz i’ve been told

I write poems of all sorts and types

i change topics every once in a while to make sure the content is all ripe

but screenplay writers don’t get scolded for writing a dark movie

people just watch it and tell them they’re groovy

Some of my poems come from real life motivation

Some might even be from real life frustration

but the most important thing is that they all rhyme

and with only a minute to write a poem, i run out of time

Most of all I write these poems for you

all of my readers who are looking for something to do

a little fun and humor in their long day

and if I write enough poems, maybe for a while they’ll stay

My wife looked through a bunch of this site

and said I was coming off as angry looking for something to bite

I’m not really angry, annoyed possibly

with a job and some clients that i have to please

I’m ok though because i’m not stuck here for ever

i’m going to move on and break free  but my ties I wont sever

I’ll start my own business and work like a dog

then my recent experience will seem like a fog

I’ll be self sufficient and that’s really the key

because when I earn my own bread is when i’ll be free.

My client said “You didn’t do anything for us” and I want this month for free

The client obviously doesnt care what I do and what he does to me

For him, one little project takes forever

because he makes so many revisions it’s such a terror

Just when you think you are all done

He makes new changes and we’re back at stage one

I put in 60 hour weeks to do everything he demands of me

but it doesnt count because he trashes it all and refuses to pay the fee.
